About Me

I'm originally from Omaha. I moved to Lincoln for college to join the NE diving team. I loved college so much that I stayed off and on for the next nine years trying find my "calling" as they say. They finally kicked me out and gave me a degree for all of my efforts. I wouldn't replace the last nine years for anything. I took a vacation about every six weeks to combat my "geographic depression," laughed so much with friends and at friends, dated enough to form a reject country full of guys you would never dare take home to mom and dad, and took the best naps. Oh the good old days. Now I'm gradually becoming fullfilled as a contributing member of the "real world." It's good.

My Family

I have three sisters, one brother, a neice, mom and dad and over a hundred aunts, uncles, and first cousins. One of my cousins is on the current season of Survivor. Another one is a flight attendant. My grandfather was a State Senator. My neice is the funniest thing I've ever seen. My family and I sit around and wait for the next funny thing she'll say. (She's two and half)

My Pets

Two cats. Marley and Tinkerbell. I'm not the biggest pet lover, but I had roommates in college who were. They moved. And forgot the cats. I love them anyway. My life wouldn't be complete if they didn't pee on a suitcase every now and then! The vet diagnosed Tinks with Obsessive compulsive disorder and I'm not making that up.

Interests
Interests I love to cook anything. I have a hard time sharing the kitchen. At least until it's time to clean-up. Traveling, writing, bringing up strange topics of conversation, helping people pass the time, camping, going to concerts, being at the beach, using sarcasm in a nice, funny way, and making my mom laugh. She has a really funny laugh. I like hunting through thrift stores for junk to replace the junk I spent all weekend throwing out. Oh, and I like naps. Downtime is my favorite hobby.
Music I love all music. I like the unpredictable, improvisational stuff. I like to never hear the same version of song twice if it's live. Dave Matthews is my favorite. (I even dragged my mom and dad to a show in November.)Other picks: Coldplay, phish, rusted root, jack johnson, U2, Bob Marley, and I'm not gonna lie. I like bubblegum pop. Kelly Clarkson really is fantastic!
Movies Almost Famous is the top of the list. Center Stage, Shawshank Redemption, Field of Dreams, Sideways, Walk the Line, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the original cartoon version), Super Troopers, Detroit Rock City, and anything with French actress Audrey Tatou.
Television The Biggest Loser, Project Runway, Beauty and the Geek, Talk Soup, 30-Minute Meals, Scrubs, The Office, My Name is Earl, CNN and anything on the History Channel. I get sucked into all of the shows on MTV. They show some of the most out-of-touch-with-reality people ever. It's like a bad train wreck you just can't turn away from.
Role Models Anyone in my family. Most of my friends. Shrek, ET, Dave Matthews, that little gecko on the commercials. How does he get all those other little geckos to spread the word?
Games Crossword puzzles, the Alphabet game, I Spy, Slug Bug, Slap Jack, Go Fish.
Books The Celestine Prophecy, The Secret Life of Bees, any biography or book on the Media (Right and Left wing approaches),Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. But, 90 percent of the time, I'm reading magazines.
Celebrity gossip, SI, Time, Newsweek, Food & Wine and anything else I can thumb through.
Organizations I'm in I'm just trying to organize myself right now.

I think I'm in the N Club at Nebraska. The Student/Athlete Alumni group, but I haven't sent them money so my name is really little on the list of members.

And the Head Club. Every time I tell someone to "join the club," it's a little club I've formed in my head.
